Our Story

Two Decades of Service.
One Unwavering Mission.

From a rented room with five intellectual disabled students in 2000, Manolayam Health Care Trust has grown into a leading rehabilitation and community development organisation, serving thousands of lives across two districts of Tamil Nadu.

How It All Began

Manolayam Health Care Trust was born out of a simple but powerful conviction, that every human being, regardless of ability, deserves dignity, care, and opportunity.

In the year 2000, the Trust began its journey in a modest rented building at Marakkadai, Koothanallur, with just five students and an unwavering commitment to serve the differently abled. Three years later, in 2003, the organisation was formally registered as a Charitable Trust under the Indian Trust Act (Registration No. 40/2003), giving it the legal foundation to expand its reach.

By 2015, the Trust had established two more residential special schools and an Early Intervention Centre, extending its services to Nagapattinam district. Today, Manolayam Health Care Trust runs three fully residential special schools, multiple community programs, women empowerment initiatives, and health awareness drives, touching thousands of lives every year.

Through every challenge and milestone, our philosophy has remained constant:

“Investment in Human Capital leads to Nation Building.”

What We Stand For

Vision

“To create an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities can live with dignity and purpose, and where all people have access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, while preserving the environment for future generations.”
Empowering communities through training, guidance, and counselling to enhance their social and economic positions.
Fostering self-help groups among marginalised and disabled individuals to promote collective empowerment.
Supporting women-headed households and HIV+ individuals through tailored training, counselling, and financial assistance.
Establishing community-based organisations to deliver comprehensive social services.
Reaching underserved populations through dedicated efforts and innovative strategies.
Adopting an integrated, multi-sectoral approach to drive sustainable development.
Providing specialised training, counselling, and health education to empower individuals and communities.
Promoting equitable access to resources and services through collaborative partnerships.
Improving health outcomes through education, early diagnosis, treatment, and holistic well-being practices.
Leveraging scientific research and expert knowledge to enhance program effectiveness.
Bridging gaps in government schemes by promoting awareness, accessibility, and utilisation.
Inspiring and empowering youth and women to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Our Core Belief

“Manolayam Health Care Trust believes that Investment in Human Capital leads to Nation Building.”
Every rupee donated, every hour volunteered, and every program delivered is an investment, not just in one individual, but in the fabric of a stronger, more inclusive society. When a child with a disability learns a skill, when a rural woman gains financial independence, when a farmer shifts to organic cultivation, the nation grows.

The People Who Guide Us
